Five Star Life

7,000 students drop out od school every day. 80% of first time drug use happens between ages 10-14. 80% of first time drug use happens between 3-6pm. These statistics point to the fact that middle school and after school are where these students are slipping throug the cracks. Former Indiana Superintendent of schools, Tony Bennett, calls the middle school years the "black hole" because students may "physically drop out" in high school, but they begin "mentally checking out" in middle school.Starting with 1 school, with 50 students, and a handful of volunteers in 2004, Five Star Life can now be found in 14 schools, with over 300 coaches serving 2.500 students annually in states of Indiana and Michigan. However, it doesn't end there.Five Star Life launchd in Houston, texas January, 2014, with other cities and states not too far behind. as a result of continuing requests across the nation, in September 2012, Five Star Life launched the first Leadership Training School. Five Star Life is expanding because demand warrants it- principals recognize it, parents appreciate it, kids deserve it and, if we don't, we risk the continued downward spiral of academics, values, and violence in generations to come. www.fivestarlife.org/

Not Impossible Labs

Northwestern Mutual and Not Impossible Labs empower people to live their best lives every single day. We’ve embarked on a project that, through disruptive technology and impactful innovation, helps people live their lives to the fullest—especially those with Parkinson’s; a disease that often seems impossible to overcome.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Keenan and the team are proud to partner with Northwestern Mutual to raise money for childhood cancer research through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). ALSF emerged from the front-yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004).

In 2000, four-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation has evolved into a national fundraising movement.

Northwestern Mutual has raised more than $17 million for the cause, helped fund 220,000 hours of research, and provided support services to many families and children.
